WOMEN IN CONSTRUCTION
Nottingham’s Women In Construction group got their hands dirty putting their skills to the test when they helped install two ecotoilets for a local community project.
“We decided our skills could be put to good use on a community project, so we made a few enquiries... the comeback was overwhelming and we received 56 responses and requests for help. We decided that FRESH would benefit most and by giving our time and energy, we will be providing a facility which is desperately needed by the local community.” Nicola Millward, Chairperson, Nottingham Women In Construction.
The Women In Construction group was formed at the beginning of 2006 by Nicola Millward as an informal networking organisation for women architects, engineers, developers, contractors, property lawyers and bankers.
Its purpose is to develop an informal networking organisation that can build relationships and friendships for today and the future. It’s about getting to know each other and our respective businesses, and developing an understanding of how we may assist each other with work opportunities, advice and experience without the heavy aggressive card swapping that a number of other networking events promote.
